ROYAL HAWAIIAN CENTER WELCOMES SWEET RETURN OF HAWAIIAN CANE JUICE
Specialty shop bringing high-quality matcha tea to the masses
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Dec. 09, 2021
Waikīkī – Hawaiian Cane Juice, a popular spot known for its freshly pressed sugar cane juices, has reopened at Royal Hawaiian Center. The relocated kiosk is located at the intersection of Kalākaua Avenue and Seaside Avenue and is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
“We’re excited for the reopening of Hawaiian Cane Juice as its offerings provide an opportunity for our guests to experience and enjoy the flavors of our islands in a unique way,” said Royal Hawaiian Center Vice President and General Manager Marleen Akau.
Hawaiian Cane Juice is a partnership between two farmers’ market juice and produce stands. They serve fresh sugar cane juice blended with seasonal fruits grown in Hawai‘i including pineapple, lime, calamansi, lilikoi and mango. The shop highlights the rich agricultural heritage of Hawai‘i and supports local farmers.
Owners Thoune Hongphao and Lei Thammavongsa operate farms in Kahuku, Kunia and Waialua. The farmers grow sugar cane and the tropical fruits featured in their juices. Prior to opening at Royal Hawaiian Center, they sold their drinks at farmers’ markets all over the island. The Royal Hawaiian Center location allows the farmers to serve more people than ever before.
“Our juices let people experience sugar cane in one of its purest forms. Sugar cane has such an important place in the history of Hawai‘i and we’re excited to be sharing it with the world,” said Thammavongsa. “For visitors, our juice is often their first experience with fresh sugar cane, and because of sugar cane’s history in the islands, many kama‘āina have said the juice brings back fond memories from their childhood.”
All Hawaiian Cane Juice drinks are made to order with freshly pressed sugar cane juice. The 20-ounce beverages, with fresh fruit toppings, can be purchased at the shop for $9.
