Kick-off event festivities include live entertainment, free photos with Santa and more

Waikīkī – The holiday season begins at Royal Hawaiian Center starting Thanksgiving Eve, Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. in The Royal Grove. Embrace the holiday cheer at the Center’s holiday kick-off event featuring visits with enchanting characters courtesy of Storybook Entertainment, live Hawaiian music and hula, a special gift with purchase, and Santa Claus lighting the holiday tree.
Festivities begin with a holiday performance by Storybook Entertainment at 5:30 p.m. followed by the arrival of Santa Claus at 5:45 p.m. after his tour of sites along Kalākaua Avenue on a trolley. Santa will lead the lighting of the spectacular 34-foot-tall holiday tree, featuring Hawaiian elements including beautiful palaka bows, glittered mesh plumeria and ukulele.
The evening continues with keiki hula by Hālau Hula ʻO Kamuela at 5:50 p.m. and musical performances by Ka Lā ʻŌnohi Mai O Haʻehaʻe and the Haʻehaʻe Serenaders from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Following the tree lighting, guests will have the chance to get a FREE photo with Santa photographed by SNAP and CRE8. Free photos with Santa will also be available every Wednesday and Saturday
from Saturday, Nov. 27 through Wednesday, Dec. 22 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in celebration of the holiday season. All guests who visit Santa will also receive a delicious peppermint cookies courtesy of Honolulu Cookie Company and a Royal Santa Savings Pass, which unlocks exclusive holiday offers from participating shops and restaurants.
Royal Hawaiian Center is also spreading good cheer by offering an exclusive gift with purchase. From November 24, 2021 through January 9, 2022, guests who present $500 in combined receipts will receive medium-sized beach pouch featuring a Pikake Rain print by local artist Suzanne Jennerich, while guests who present $750 in combined receipts will receive a large beach pouch featuring a Pua Melia print by the artist, and guests who spend $1,200 or more will receive both pouches.
