Gillia Clothing and Kira x Miffy to open in coming months

Waikīkī – Royal Hawaiian Center has announced the addition of two new specialty boutiques to its tenant roster. Vintage inspired resort wear Gillia and Kira x Miffy, a San Francisco-based kids clothing store, will open their first Hawai‘i locations in December and January, respectively.

Gillia will feature its feminine beach lifestyle dresses and cover-ups in addition to its collection of vintage inspired swimwear with a modern twist. First launched in 2011 by Hawai‘i designer Saori Santos as an online store, Gillia opened a pop-up store at Royal Hawaiian Center in January 2017. This new boutique will be located on Building B, Level 1 and is scheduled to open in December 2019.

Kira x Miffy, will offer an array of kids’ clothing made from garment-dyed organic cotton fabric with hand-drawn illustrations. The shop is the first free-standing location outside of California for the Kira Kids brand. The boutique will have exclusive Hawai‘i designs featuring Miffy, the popular character created by Dutch illustrator and author Dick Bruna. Kira Kids has collaborated with Miffy for several seasonal collections, taking inspiration from the bedtime stories and combined them with its unique style and colors. In addition to children’s apparel for infants through pre-teens, guests will also find a selection of soft toys, accessories, adult t-shirts, and home goods. Kira x Miffy is scheduled to open in January 2020 and will be located on Building B, Level 1.
