Vintage clothing retailer Harbors Vintage to open second O‘ahu location, Australian-based Gelatissimo to open first Hawai‘i location.

Waikīkī – Royal Hawaiian Center continues to expand its tenant mix with the addition of three specialty stores and eateries, including the second location of popular, locally-owned vintage clothing retailer Harbors Vintage, which will open on Thursday, July 1, 2021. Scheduled to open later this year are artisan gelato shop, Gelatissimo, and Hawaiian Cane Juice, offering fresh-pressed sugar cane juice blended with local seasonal fruits.

“Harbors Vintage is a welcome addition to the lineup of merchants at Royal Hawaiian Center with its selection of vintage and collectible clothing, which will be highly appealing to local residents and visitors alike,” said Marleen Akau, Vice President, General Manager of Royal Hawaiian Center. “When Gelatissimo and Hawaiian Cane Juice open their doors in the coming months, our guests will enjoy delicious tropical flavors that are perfect for our island weather.”

What started as a hobby for Arik Ma while he pursued a business degree from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, turned into a successful entrepreneurial venture. Ma launched Harbors Vintage in 2016 with online sales and pop-up shops before opening his first brick-and-mortar shop in 2018. Harbors Vintage steadily grew its online following and has gained its share of celebrity fans, including popstar Justin Bieber and his wife, model Hailey Bieber.

“We pride of ourselves in carrying a wide range of pieces that will appeal to everyone from Gen Z to Baby Boomers, and there’s no better place than Royal Hawaiian Center for Harbors Vintage’s next location,” said Ma. “Whether you’re looking for a vintage aloha shirt for the office, a graphic t-shirt reminiscent of your high school days, or streetwear that expresses your unique personality, Harbors Vintage has something that’s new to you.”

The 867-square foot Harbors Vintage store specializes in vintage t-shirts, including Hawai‘i-related designs, band tour shirts, souvenir shirts from the 80s and 90s, sports teams, and more. The shop also carries vintage aloha wear for men and women, streetwear from brands such as Supreme, vintage trucker and baseball hats, and footwear. Harbors Vintage is located in Building C, Level 1, and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Gelatissimo, with stores internationally and in Australia, will open its first Hawai‘i location at Royal Hawaiian Center to bring its award-winning decadent gelato to guests. The artisan gelato shop will offer unique and innovative flavors in a wide range of options including vegan-friendly, reduced sugar, and made without dairy to suit all tastes. Gelatissimo is scheduled to open in October in the kiosk located in Building A, Level 1 on the corner of Kalākaua Avenue and Lewers Street.

Hawaiian Cane Juice will return to Royal Hawaiian Center with its sweet offerings of freshly pressed sugar cane juices blended with local seasonal fruits; they previously operated a pop-up in 2019. The shop is a partnership between two popular farmers’ market juice and produce stands. All drinks are made to order and flavors include pineapple, lime, calamansi, and lilikoi. Seasonal fruits such as mango will also be featured. Hawaiian Cane Juice is also scheduled to open in August in the kiosk Building B, Level 1 on Kalākaua Avenue and Seaside Avenue.
