Hawaiian Cane Juice serves up fresh pressed sugar cane juice and fruit drinks
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Nov. 5, 2019
Waikīkī – Royal Hawaiian Center’s newest addition Hawaiian Cane Juice offers guests sweet treats with freshly pressed sugar cane juices blended with local seasonal fruits. Located in the kiosk on the corner of Kalākaua Avenue and Lewers Street, the shop is a partnership between two popular farmers’ market juice and produce stands. The shop will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. starting on Friday, October 11, 2019.
“The addition of Hawaiian Cane Juice allows our guests to experience and enjoy the flavors of Hawai‘i in a new and unique way,” said Royal Hawaiian Center Vice President, General Manager Marleen Akau. “We’re proud to highlight our islands’ rich agricultural heritage and support the work of our kama‘āina farmers.”
Thoune Hongphao operates farms in Kahuku and Kunia and Lei Thammavongsa runs a farm in Waialua. The farmers grow the sugar cane and tropical fruits featured in the freshly pressed juices and have sold their drinks at farmers’ markets across the island. The Hawaiian Cane Juice stand allows them to offer the naturally sweetened beverages on a daily basis.
“We want people to taste the true flavor of sugar cane in one of its purest forms along with our locally grown fruits,” said Thammavongsa. “Our drinks have been popular at the farmers’ markets and we’re excited to introduce them to even more people. For visitors, our juices might be the first time they’re drinking cane juice, and for kama‘āina it may bring back memories from their childhood.”
All Hawaiian Cane Juice drinks are made to order with freshly pressed sugar cane juice, which is then mixed with other fruit juices. The initial drink flavors include pineapple, lime, calamansi, and lilikoi. Seasonal fruits such as mango will also be featured. The 20-ounce drinks retail for $9.
Hawaiian Cane Juice is located at Royal Hawaiian Center in the kiosk in Building A Level 1 on the corner of Kalākaua Avenue and Lewers Street and is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
