# Royal Hawaiian Center

> Royal Hawaiian Center is an open-air shopping, dining and Hawaiian cultural destination at 2201 Kalākaua Avenue in the heart of Waikīkī, Honolulu, Hawaiʻi 96815. It has 90+ retailers, from luxury flagships such as Hermès, Tiffany & Co., Saint Laurent and Fendi to locally made Hawaiian brands, plus about 30 restaurants and eateries. It also offers free daily Hawaiian cultural lessons and live music and hula in The Royal Grove. The Center is open 365 days a year, 10 AM–9 PM daily.

Royal Hawaiian Center opened in 1980 on Helumoa, a storied land section once favored by Hawaiian royalty and known for a royal grove of some 10,000 coconut trees. The Center spans three buildings (A, B and C) across four levels along Kalākaua Avenue, next to The Royal Hawaiian Hotel and Sheraton Waikīkī. The Royal Grove, a landscaped courtyard with a statue of Princess Bernice Pauahi, is the Center's gathering place for Hawaiian music, hula and seasonal events.

- Policies: pet-free (trained service animals welcome); smoke- and vape-free everywhere on property, including walkways and balconies.
- Amenities: free Wi-Fi network "RoyalHawaiianCenter" (2 free hours per day, 7 AM–midnight). ATMs in Building B Level 1 (near ABC Store), Building B Level 2 (near Pāʻina Lānai Food Court) and Building C Level 1 (near The Cheesecake Factory). Restrooms with baby-changing stations in Building B Level 2 and Building B Level 4. There is no luggage storage on site.
- Gift cards: sold at Helumoa Hale Guest Services ($30 minimum; activation fees apply).
- Language: the Center uses Hawaiian spellings with the ʻokina and kahakō (Waikīkī, Kalākaua, Pāʻina Lānai), though the website sometimes omits them.

Parking details:

- **Garage:** open 24 hours, 7 levels, 600+ stalls. The entrance is at Royal Hawaiian Avenue and Don Ho Lane, reachable from Lewers Street or Kalākaua Avenue. Height clearance is 6'2".
- **Standard rate:** $4.00 per 30 minutes.
- **Validated rate** (spend $25+ at any Center merchant): first hour free, second and third hours $3.00 each, then $8.00 per hour.
- **Kamaʻāina & Military rate** (same-day $25+ receipt plus a Hawaiʻi State ID or Military ID, validated at Helumoa Hale): first three hours free, then $8.00 per hour.
- **EV charging:** two stations on Level 4 of the garage, 2-hour maximum. No Tesla-specific chargers.
- **Getting here without a car:** the rideshare (Uber/Lyft) pickup and drop-off is the Building A loading zone at Royal Hawaiian Avenue and Don Ho Lane. TheBus and Waikīkī Trolley stops are steps away.
