Sales Associate / Sales Supervisor - Island Slipper

Job Description:

Island Slipper has manufactured fashion forward slippers in Hawaii nearly 80 years. We also retail Island Slipper footwear at Royal Hawaiian Center.

We are looking for an energetic sales professional with great eye contact, enthusiasm and a positive attitude who understands how to engage people in conversation. The ideal candidate is a strong team-player and can communicate sales information to local customers and Asian tourist customers, primarily Japanese.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with requests in store and on the phone

  • Demonstrate knowledge of products and services to customers

  • Greet customers in a friendly and polite manner

  • Monitor inventory levels and restock sales floor as needed

  • Educate customers about current promotions and advertisements

  • Ring up customers at the cash register, take payments, and issue receipts

  • Stamp, mark, and tag prices on merchandise

  • Contribute to team's daily sales goals

  • Styling footwear and accessories to create content for social media posts. If interested, please provide examples of what you can offer.

Required

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

  • 6 months of retail sales experience

  • Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays (store open daily from 10a-9p)

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Strong orientation towards providing excellent customer service

  • Basic math skills

  • Basic computer skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Demonstrated selling skills

  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and bend or reach to restock products

Desired

  • 1 year of sales experience or customer service experience

  • Ability to speak Japanese, Chinese, or Korean

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
